Tabseel Photowalk

As part of Mezrad’s ongoing cultural programming, we organized the Tabseel Photowalk, a unique experience that highlighted one of Oman’s treasured seasonal traditions: the process of tabseel boiling and drying dates to preserve them.

The journey began at the farms, where participants witnessed the tabseel process firsthand, immersing themselves in the sights, sounds, and heritage of this practice. With cameras in hand, they captured the rhythm of the tradition, documenting the rich textures, colors, and stories of the community.

The experience then moved to the historic Al Mirani Fort, in collaboration with the fort’s efforts to shed light on cultural traditions. Here, participants had the opportunity to further explore and reflect on the meaning of tabseel within Oman’s cultural identity, while connecting with fellow photographers and heritage enthusiasts.

This photowalk embodied Mezrad’s mission: to create authentic cultural experiences that bridge community, creativity, and tradition, while offering new perspectives on the practices that shape Omani heritage.
